Dr. Michael Natterer co-founded Octimine Technologies and developed its core AI technology. His expertise spans product innovation, new business models, Generative AI, machine learning, and predictive patent analytics. Since Octimine’s acquisition by the Dennemeyer Group in 2018, he has continued to lead the company while also building Dennemeyer X-Labs and Corporate Development, contributing to the Group’s overall strategy.

Under his leadership, Dennemeyer X-Labs develops pioneering IP solutions, including the AI-powered patent search platform Octimine, the Dennemeyer API, Simple IP – a free IP management system for SMEs – the IP Lounge as a gateway to the Group’s services, and a GEN AI GPT-powered platform that enhances internal efficiency.

Michael is a frequent speaker on AI and emerging technologies, with a background in tech, business, and entrepreneurship. He studied at LMU Munich, the Sydney Graduate School of Management, and Harvard University, and holds a Ph.D. from the Max Planck Institute and LMU Munich, specializing in large-scale machine learning with patent data.

Beyond entrepreneurship, he enjoys programming, reading, and sports such as basketball, fitness, snowboarding, and wakeboarding.

Dr. Michael Natterer speaks English, German and French and has been active in the field of IP since 2009.
